The Bells
by Colin Griffith
When I came to this Kingdom all I heard was the bells,
The bells, the bells, the bells.
They rang, They sang, They played all day
Songs of life, melodies of love, harmonies of death.
Where do you come from?
I come from the Dells.
Why are you here?
To hear the bells.
For months on end, endless bells,
Then they slowly disappeared.
A sudden attack, rot from inside,
A city under siege,
A perilous time indeed.
Week to week an ongoing fight,
Men at the walls,
Fiends outside,
Secure the women,
There are villains inside.
Use your might,
Fight for right,
Lock and Load,
Shoot real slow,
Wait for calm to reappear.
A new day dawns, much too silent,
Use this time,
To prepare to fight.
Another attack,
We have been pushed back.
Stand your ground,
We have nowhere to run.
Rearm! Rearm! Rearm!
Bring in more food from the farms!
If we can only stand so much longer…
Let us try a ruse,
Spread the news,
Make a trap,
Lure them in,
Now they are here,
Nowhere they should be.
Lock the door,
A silent roar,
Watch them run,
Begin pursuit,
We have one chance to win,
Sirens aloud, Through the streets,
There they are, take them now
Whatever the cost,
There, they have lost.
The city is ours,
Reclaim the land,
Order restored,
We have won the day,
Let the bells sing once more.
